Recent Action on Health Care

Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good recently joined the faith-based community in rallying around the need for health care reform and launched a radio ad campaign that encourages members of Congress “to work together to make quality health care choices affordable for all families.” You can listen to the ads by clicking here. Share this with all your friends! We need to ensure that our nation provides quality, affordable health care for ALL.

Grassroots Outreach

Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good has created a comprehensive grassroots outreach program to bring the message of Catholic social teaching to lay Catholics at the local level. Working with our Catholic organizational partners, we are building a network of Catholic leaders to promote greater awareness of Catholic social teachings in local areas across the country. We are also working with Catholic leaders to promote the common good message in the media. Media and Communications

Catholics in Alliance's Media and Communications program is designed to infuse the full message of Catholic Social Teaching into the national dialogue on faith and public life. We accomplish this through:

Our Media Resource Center, which provides information about Catholic social teaching and contemporary issues to members of the press, public officials, and others interested in issues relating to Catholicism and public life.
Voices for the Common Good Speakers Bureau, which is a group of Catholic commentators consisting of prominent experts on the Catholic social tradition, including priests, women religious, scholars, theologians, and Catholic organizational leaders.
Ongoing work with members of the theological community to articulate a full and accurate representation of Catholic social teaching, and to suggest practical policy to promote greater awareness of our Church's social vision.

Strategic Coordination

Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good serves as a public networking space where Catholic organizations and leaders dedicated to the common good can converge, organize, and unite as a collective voice. Catholics in Alliance field staff will work with individuals interested in forming a local network of Catholics to engage in media outreach campaigns and networking.

Catholics in Alliance can offer ongoing organizing assistance in the following ways:

Media and leadership training
Building a campaign strategy around a specific social justice issue
Planning an educational event
Setting up a rapid response email network
Providing links ot other Catholics in Alliance supporters in your area
Posting group events on the Catholics in Alliance website

In 2008, CACG launched a major public awareness ad campaign, which highlights the economic crisis as a moral issue. Click here to donate to the campaign!
